Outdoor Music Etiquette + Cairn Crew Playlist

Music Etiquette

We’re all for the good vibes music can bring to outdoor experiences, which is why we were stoked to feature the Speaqua Cruiser Bluetooth Speaker in a recent Monthly Cairn Collection; but being considerate of others with a few simple steps is important before you switch on that 3-hour bluegrass playlist.

Not everyone enjoys the same type of outdoor experience, so let’s be respectful of each other. Remember, we’re all out here together!

Here are a few things to keep in mind (and keep scrolling for the Cairn Crew playlist):

1) ABIDE BY CAMP GUIDELINES:

Be observant of any camp or park noise guidelines and quiet hours. They exist for a reason 😀.

2) BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS:

Keep music at a volume that’s appropriate for your surroundings...a quick look around your campsite or picnic spot should tell you what you need to know.

3) NOT ON THE TRAIL:

Your music carries far beyond where your feet are falling, so you often aren’t aware of all the ears in the area. And beyond being soothed by the sweet sounds of nature, as a matter of trail safety you should be able to hear your surroundings.

CAIRN CREW CAMP PLAYLIST

When I asked the Crew to send me one song that sets the tone for a good time at camp it should be noted that clearly, not everyone follows the rules (some gave no recommendations - lame - and some gave multiple - ok, I'll allow it). I take no responsibility for the quality of this playlist, but it seems like a pretty eclectic good time to me!
