3. Feel Good + Get Rewarded

Meet the Outside Gear Up, Give Back™ Program.

We've teamed up with Bend, Oregon based company, The Gear Fix, to make it easy for the Outside community (or anyone with gear to spare) to donate their retired outdoor gear to support the planet, inclusion, and adventure through The Outdoorist Oath.

Like you, we get a thrill from discovering innovative new gear, which means we end up retiring some of our equipment simply because we've moved on to something that works better for us. This program will extend the lifecycle of existing products, make gear more accessible to more people and raise funds for a cause we believe in.

We know our community is passionate about the outdoors and supporting others getting out there. Let's build a more sustainable and inclusive future together!

What Happens After I Send In My Gear?

The Gear Fix will asses the items you send in, make any necessary minor repairs and touch-ups, and place them for sale in their shop. Gear Fix sets prices of the items based off a combination of their experience selling it previously, its original retail price, its going used price out there in the world, and demand for the item. The proceeds of each item sold (less shipping and handling fees) will be donated to our 2022 beneficiary, The Outdoorist Oath!

What Happens To Items That Can't Be Sold?

The Gear Fix has local channels for donating items that can't be sold in the shop.

Is What I Send In Tax Deductable?

We don't believe it is, but to be certain you'll need to check with your accountant. Because we're working with an intermediary (Gear Fix) to accept your gear and sell it on your behalf, it complicates the tax rules and is likely not tax deductible.

What If I Live Outside The US?

We'd still love you to send in your gear! Unfortunately we can't provide a prepaid shipping label to origination addresses outside the US. Have a trip planned to the US or a friend/family member coming, send it into the US with them and have them ship it once here. Alternatively, we'd love for you to purchase shipping and send it from anywhere in the world to:
